In 2022 I started to study medicine at the Johannes-Gutenberg University with great interest. After completing an elective course focused on neuroscience my enthusiasm for this research field grew and I decided to do my doctoral thesis at the Neuroimaging Center in Mainz under the guidance of Prof. Til Ole Bergmann.I chose to research TUS and its effects on the human brain and for this I became part of the BF-TUS-EEG project, where we stimulate the basal forebrain as well as the Insula and observe the TUS-induced effects via EEG. We are hoping to further understand the possibilities of TUS for neuromodulation and provide ground work for future TUS studies which can explore clinical applications for TUS.
